Now that it's Spring, it's nice to hear the sounds of chirping birds. However, the sound of a chirping smoke or carbon monoxide detector in the middle of the night can be a real annoyance. So remember to check and replace the batteries in all your smoke and CO detectors. The National Fire Protection Association recommends changing the batteries every six months. In addition, check the dates on all detectors. Smoke detectors should be replaced every 10 years and carbon monoxide detectors every 7 years. Stay safe!
